Singapore Public Holidays 2027
Singapore has 11 gazetted public holidays in 2027, officially confirmed by the Ministry of Manpower on 18 June 2026. Five of them create long weekends without annual leave: New Year’s Day and Good Friday fall on a Friday, Chinese New Year’s second day rolls over to Monday Feb 8, and Hari Raya Haji and National Day both land on a Monday.

Five long weekends — one fewer than 2026
MOM gazetted the 2027 list on 18 June 2026. Five holidays fall on a Friday, Sunday or Monday, producing five no-leave long weekends: New Year’s Day (Fri), Chinese New Year (Sun day 2 → Mon Feb 8 in lieu), Good Friday (Fri), Hari Raya Haji (Mon) and National Day (Mon). That compares with six long weekends in 2026 and four in 2025.
The trade-off: three holidays fall on a Saturday — the first day of Chinese New Year (Feb 6), Labour Day (May 1) and Christmas (Dec 25). Singapore only grants an in-lieu day when a holiday falls on a Sunday, so those Saturdays are not extended. If you work a five-day week, they are effectively absorbed.

What happens if I have to work on a public holiday in Singapore?+
