How China sets its annual holiday schedule
Each year China's State Council (国务院) publishes the next year's holiday arrangement (放假安排), usually around November or December. That notice sets the exact days off for each festival and the weekend make-up workdays (调休 / 补班) used to extend them. The 2027 schedule is therefore expected in late 2026.
Until that notice is released, the dates below are the 13 statutory festival days set by the amended national holiday regulation — in force since 2025, when Chinese New Year's Eve and May 2 were added. The extended multi-day breaks and the make-up workdays are still pending and are not shown here.
