Taiwan's 2028 calendar follows the standing substitution rules under the amended Commemorative Days and Holidays Act — the DGPA has not yet published the official government office calendar, which typically lands around May–June of the preceding year, so these dates are projections and will be updated when the notice arrives. Lunar New Year falls midweek (New Year's Eve Tue Jan 25, main day Wed Jan 26) and runs into the weekend for six days off. Dragon Boat Festival (Sun May 28) shifts to Mon May 29, and five long weekends of three days or more are in view. There are no make-up workdays.

Several festivals fall midweek in 2028
Not every holiday creates a long weekend in 2028. Children’s Day and Tomb-Sweeping Day both land on Tuesday, April 4; Mid-Autumn Festival (Oct 3), National Day (Oct 10) and Retrocession Day (Oct 25) are also midweek singles. Teachers’ Day (Sep 28) falls on a Thursday.
Taiwan continues the "substitute but no make-up workday" policy adopted in 2025: a holiday on Saturday moves to the Friday before, on Sunday to the Monday after, and no Saturday is ever converted into a working day. New Year’s Day 2028 (Sat Jan 1) was observed early on Fri Dec 31, 2027.
