Taiwan Public Holidays (2025–2028)
Taiwan has 120 days off in 2026 with nine long weekends of three days or more. The longest is the 9-day Lunar New Year in February. Since 2025 Taiwan no longer schedules make-up Saturdays — holidays that fall on a weekend simply move to the nearest workday.

No more make-up workdays since 2025
Taiwan used to “borrow” a Saturday to extend Lunar New Year, the way mainland China still does. From 2025 that practice was abolished: there are no make-up workdays in 2026. When a holiday lands on a Saturday it is observed the preceding Friday, and a Sunday holiday is observed the following Monday — Lunar New Year days may shift either way.
Three holidays restored in 2025 — Teachers’ Day / Confucius’ Birthday (Sep 28), Retrocession Day (Oct 25) and Constitution Day (Dec 25) — remain on the 2026 calendar, and Labour Day is now a day off for everyone.
