Is Epiphany a Public Holiday?
Epiphany 2027 falls on Wednesday, January 6.
Epiphany is always 6 January — the Twelfth Day of Christmas — so what changes is the weekday and whether the law moves the day off. Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland, Greece and Sweden keep the feast on that calendar date; Colombia shifts the paid holiday to the following Monday under the Emiliani law. Germany is not in the table below: only Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Saxony-Anhalt treat 6 January as a public holiday; the other thirteen Länder work as usual. The United Kingdom and the United States have no nationwide day off. Compare years in the table below.

Rows marked provisional show only the dates already fixed. Where a government sets the length of the break by annual decree — mainland China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia — the full arrangement has not been published for that year yet, so treat those day counts as a floor and any blank as "not announced", not as a working day.
When 6 January is mid-week
In 2025, 6 January is a Monday — Colombia observes the same Monday, while Spain, Italy and the rest keep that calendar date. In 2026 it is a Tuesday, in 2027 a Wednesday and in 2028 a Thursday. None of the “keep the day” countries transfer a weekend date; only Colombia always buys a Monday.
Reyes Magos and the Monday rule
In Spain the public holiday stays on 6 January nationwide (for example all regions kept Wednesday 6 January 2027). Colombia is different: unless 6 January is already a Monday, as in 2025, workers take the next Monday instead — 12 January 2026, 11 January 2027 and 10 January 2028.
