Malaysia School Holidays 2027: KPM Calendar (Partial)
KPM announced in Surat Siaran Bil. 3/2025 that the 2027 school year will start on Monday 4 January 2027 for both Group A and Group B — a nationwide alignment. The full Kalendar Akademik 2027 with Cuti Penggal 1–3, mid-year break and Cuti Akhir had not been published on the KPM portal when this page was written, so we list only the confirmed start date and reference public holidays separately.

As of August 2026 the KPM academic-calendar portal listed downloads through 2026 only. We do not infer Cuti Penggal or mid-year dates from prior years — when Surat Siaran Bil. X/2026 (or equivalent) is published, this page will be updated.
Public holidays to watch when the 2027 calendar lands
Chinese New Year (Sat–Sun 6–7 February 2027) will likely fall inside Term block 1 once the calendar is published — plan travel early because Cuti Penggal 1 dates are not yet fixed.
Provisional Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Wed–Thu 10–11 March 2027) may align with Cuti Penggal 1 as it did in 2026 — re-check once the official KPM calendar and public-holiday gazette are both confirmed.
Deepavali (Sun 7 November 2027, in-lieu Mon 8 November) and Christmas (Sat 25 December) will fall near year-end — useful anchors once Cuti Akhir 2027 dates are published.

How do school holidays differ from public holidays in Malaysia?
Cuti Penggal and Cuti Akhir are set by KPM for government-aided schools. Public holidays are gazetted separately by state and federal authorities — schools close on both, but the dates come from different sources and are listed on separate pages here.
