MOE confirmed the 2026 school calendar on 30 July 2025: Term 1 starts Friday 2 January 2026, and the March, June, September and year-end holidays are fixed for the whole year. This page lists every term, school holiday and school-based closure in the 2026 calendar year from the official MOE calendar.
This page covers the 2026 calendar year only — the full 2026 school year from Term 1 (2 January) through the year-end holidays from 21 November. Primary and secondary school dates are confirmed by MOE; JC/MI cohorts differ slightly (see notes).

JC & MI: later start, later finish
JC1 and MI1 start on 4 February 2026; JC2 and MI2/MI3 return 12 January. March, June and September holidays match primary and secondary schools. JC/MI year-end holidays start 28 November — about a week after primary and secondary schools.
School holidays & public holidays: stretching the breaks
Chinese New Year (Tue 17 – Wed 18 February) falls inside Term 1 — a two-day public holiday block with no leave needed. Taking Thu–Fri 19–20 February extends it to a five-day family break.
Hari Raya Puasa (Sat 21 March) plus the school day off-in-lieu on Mon 23 March gives students a free three-day weekend at the start of Term 2 — the March holidays (14–22 March) sit just before it.
Good Friday (Fri 3 April) and Labour Day (Fri 1 May) each anchor a three-day weekend in Term 2. Hari Raya Haji (Wed 27 May) sits two school days before the June holidays start on 30 May — one leave day on Thu 28 May turns 25–30 May into a six-day break.
Vesak Day (Sun 31 May) makes Monday 1 June a public holiday inside the June holidays — no leave trick needed. National Day (Sun 9 August) plus the school holiday after (Mon 10 August, also a public in-lieu day) gives a free four-day weekend 8–10 August in Term 3.
