Vietnamese Cultural Day — a new public holiday from 2026

Under Decree 128/2025/ND-CP, November 24 was added as Vietnamese Cultural Day (Ngày Văn hóa Việt Nam) starting from 2026, raising the annual statutory total from 11 to 12 days. The day honours Vietnam's cultural heritage and is observed nationwide alongside the existing five holiday periods.

Tet and National Day schedules are announced each year by the Ministry of Home Affairs, often with bridge days and make-up workdays to create longer breaks. For the private sector, the government typically offers two or three configuration options — employers choose one within the legal minimum, so always confirm with your company.
