The SKB joint decree deliberately places Indonesia’s 8 cuti bersama (collective leave) days next to its 17 national holidays, producing nine long weekends in 2026 — more than any other ASEAN country. The headline is the 7-day Nyepi–Lebaran super break of March 18–24, followed by three 4-day breaks (Chinese New Year, Ascension Day, Christmas) and five natural 3-day weekends.

Five of the nine breaks below depend on cuti bersama days, and those are only mandatory for civil servants. Private companies decide whether to observe them — and when they do, the days usually come out of your annual leave. Before booking Lebaran or Christmas travel, confirm which days your employer actually grants. Banks, government offices and many corporates do close, so business slows down regardless.
The March super break is the one to plan around: Nyepi (Mar 19), Idul Fitri (Mar 21–22) and five cuti bersama days fuse into seven straight days off, with government-endorsed work-from-anywhere on Mar 16–17 and 25–27. Mudik (homecoming) traffic peaks on Mar 18 outbound and Mar 24 on the return — and Bali’s airport shuts completely for 24 hours on Nyepi itself.
