How we count

We walk the calendar day by day from 1 January to 31 December. A Monday-to-Friday date that is not on the official holiday list counts as a working day; multi-day breaks are expanded from their start to their end date. Weekends are non-working by default, except for weekend dates the government has designated as make-up workdays, which are counted back in. Every date is handled in UTC, so the result never shifts with the reader’s timezone.

Only nationwide statutory holidays for Indonesia are counted. Annual leave, sick leave, company shutdown days and holidays observed in one region only are not included, so banks, government offices and individual employers may work a slightly different calendar.

Frequently asked questions

How many working days are there in Indonesia in 2028?+

Indonesia has 248 working days in 2028: 366 calendar days minus 106 weekend days and 12 public holiday days that fall on a weekday. That is about 1984 hours on a standard 8-hour day.

How many non-working days does Indonesia have in 2028?+

118 days: 106 weekend days plus 12 weekday public holidays. A further 4 holiday days already fall on a weekend, so they add no extra time off.

Why does your number differ from other working-day calculators?+

We work from the official Indonesia holiday list for 2028, expand every multi-day break and include substitute or observed days. Indonesia has no make-up workday system, so any correct calculation lands on 248; a different figure usually means a missed substitute day or an out-of-date list.

Which month has the most and fewest working days in Indonesia in 2028?+

March has the most with 23 working days, and December the fewest with 19. The table below breaks all twelve months down into working days, weekend days and holidays.

Does this include annual leave or company holidays?+

No. Only nationwide statutory holidays for Indonesia are counted. Annual leave, sick leave, employer shutdown days and region-specific holidays are excluded, so your own workplace calendar may differ by a few days.

Are the 2028 figures final?+

Not yet. The official 2028 Indonesia arrangement is still incomplete, so the count is based on confirmed dates plus the government’s usual pattern (last updated 2026-07-30). We refresh the number as soon as the announcement lands.
